The First Lesson to Learn How to Wash My Face

I have just started my facial beauty class two weeks ago.

In the first lesson, we’ve learnt how to wash our face. Before we started the lesson, I was wondering why it can take a lesson of about one and half hour to teach us how to washing our face? Everyone washes face everyday and it should be nothing special and new.

Actually it did not take up such a long time. The first hour was actually given us the ideas on why and what are the benefits to learn how to wash our face as well as teaching us the method. The last thirty minutes were to do the demo and let us practice by ourselves.

I think most of the people are thinking that washing face is for cleansing purpose only. However, it is not very right. Cleansing is also boosting up the absorption of the ingredients from the products that you applied on your face such as the facial cream and firming eye cream.

As we understand, there are three different skin types – dry skin, oily skin and mixed skin types and we always think our skin type is one of these and we will choose very specific creams to use. However the tutor said everyone has the same skin type it is the mixed skin type in fact. The oiliest area is the nose and the driest area is the skin around our eyes and therefore we actually need to choose different creams for different areas of our face.

As the skin around our eyes is the driest and thinnest skin on our face, the firming eye cream that we choose is very important, we must choose something non-sensitive and made with natural ingredients. It is also very important for how we apply it on our faces as it will be useless if our face does not absorb the ingredients of the firming eye cream and the facial cream.

How to Wash Your Face?

1. Using few pieces of 70-80% wet cotton pads and rub a small amount of the facial cleanser on the cotton pads.

2. Apply the facial cleanser on 5 areas:
  • Forehead
  • Left Cheek
  • Right Cheek
  • Nose
  • Chin
3. Using the finger tips to hold the cotton pad and move upward and outward on forehead.

4. Move circle around the eyes.

5. Move upward and downward on nose.

6. Move circle on cheeks.

7. Move upward and downward on both sides of the mouth.

8. Move outward on neck and chin.

9. Rinse your face with few pieces of clean and 70-80% wet cotton pads by repeating steps 3-8.

10. Replace with new cotton pads and repeat #9 until the cotton pads are not dirty.

11. Repeat steps 2-8 for applying the facial toner, the firming eye cream and facial cream.
Note: use clean and dry cotton pads or hands for steps 11.

I’ve started to wash my face and apply the firming eye cream and facial cream with this method about a week and I found my face really looks different and the skin has a significant change!

I will keep sharing the knowledge I learnt from the facial beauty class with you, please stay tuned with my latest posts!
